Book Review: The Hobbit

Yes, i have never read the Hobbit, so shoot me :p

The Hobbit

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien, a classic if there ever was one. I figired with all the hype surrounding the movie to be released in November, it is definitely worth taking time to read it, plus it’s on my classics list. Two birds, one stone.

I am sure you have all heard about the book and the follow up Lord of the Rings trilogy so I guess I don’t need to go into to much detail but to put it simply A hobbit and a bunch of dwarves travel a lojg distance to rob a dragon nad get rich.

The book follows there adventures along the way and for those that are into thr fantasy side of sci fi I am sure this book is great. For me, not so much.

Don’t gwt me wrong it is not a bad book. The first thing that shocked me is the length, this book is short, 132 pages on my Ebook. I thought i had a corrupted version to start with but after conferring with a coworker she confirmed to me it was right. How Peter Jackson is getting 3 movies out of that book is a miracle.

The other shock to me was how much thr book skips around and just skips parts that would of been interesting to say the least. Either way thr book was not my cup of tea but now I can tick it off the list, and be one of thosr people who complajn in a movie when a book gets butchered ,which I am sure it will.
